The sky lights up in all colours
See out the old year with a colourful bang in Obertraun on Lake Hallstatt. Since years the annual New Year's Eve open-air party, in the UNESCO World Heritage site of Hallstatt Dachstein Salzkammergut, has lured countless visitors and locals. The reason for this is most certainly the large fireworks display in the village square! Also this year, the sky above the Dachstein community will once again be lit up in all colours! The perfect atmosphere for an unforgettable turn of the year in the Salzkammergut. This will be ensured by a snow bar, with all kinds of drinks and of course a live DJ in the town square on 31st December from 22.00 o´clock.

A Procession of light and sound
The "Glöcklerlauf" is a time-honoured local tradition on 5th January. This is hardly surprising, as it is believed that the illuminated head decorations and the ringing of the bells bring good luck into the community in the coming year!
